An event can be as simple as "Dinner 7pm" or as detailed as a meeting with a location, link, notes, reminders, and participants.

Title, date, and duration

  • Title is what you'll search for most, so keep it short and recognizable.
  • All day events have no time (great for birthdays, deadlines, travel days).
  • Timed events have a start and end time.

Calendar and color

Every event belongs to a calendar (like "Work" or "Personal").

Tip: If you use multiple calendars, pick strong, distinct colors so overlaps are easy to spot.

See: Calendar colors and visibility

You can add:

  • A location (address, room name, or a URL), and
  • A meeting link (Zoom/Google Meet/etc)

NimbleCal can also open non-URL locations in your preferred maps provider.

See: Settings and preferences

Notes (description)

Use the description field for anything you want to keep with the event:

  • Agendas
  • Checklists
  • Dial-in info
  • Anything you might need later

Reminders and recurrence

Two common "make it stick" tools:

Participants and invites

Add participant emails when you want to send an invite and collect RSVPs.

Privacy note
Invites are designed to be private, but they are different from normal encrypted sync. An invite link can reveal event details to anyone who has the link. Keep invite links private.
