NimbleCal is local-first. It works offline, and it syncs encrypted data across your devices when you're online.
These status messages show up as small banners when something needs your attention.
"Sync needs attention"
If you see a "Sync needs attention" banner (usually in the bottom-right), NimbleCal hit a real replication error and could not sync right now.
Common causes:
- You're offline (or on a flaky connection)
- The server had a temporary hiccup
- You signed out in another tab/device
Try this:
- Make sure you're online.
- Refresh the page.
- If you're on a new device, leave NimbleCal open for a minute so the first sync can finish.
If it keeps happening, see: Troubleshooting sync issues
Sync status indicator (if you see it)
In some versions of NimbleCal, you may see a small sync icon in the top toolbar (near search).
What it means:
- A checkmark: All data is synced.
- A spinning icon: Sync is in progress (it might say what it's syncing: events, calendars, settings, etc.).
- A cloud icon: Connected and synced.
- An alert icon: Sync failed (the tooltip usually shows the error).
- A crossed-out cloud: Not connected to sync yet.
Tip: If something looks stuck, the safest first step is still a refresh.
Offline
Offline viewing and editing work on both Free and Plus. If you're offline, sync pauses and resumes automatically when you're back online.
