If reminders are not showing up, it is usually a permissions issue.

On mobile?
Mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Android Chrome) cannot reliably deliver notifications when NimbleCal is closed. This is a platform limitation, not a bug. For reliable reminders, use NimbleCal on desktop. iOS and Android apps are in development.

1. Enable notifications in NimbleCal

In the app:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Notifications, click Enable notifications.
  3. Click Send test notification.

If the test notification works, your browser permissions are good.

2. Unblock notifications in your browser

If Settings shows "Notifications are blocked", you will need to allow notifications at the browser level.

Common fixes:

  • Look for a lock icon in the address bar (site settings) and allow notifications.
  • Make sure you are not in a private/incognito window (some browsers block notifications there).

3. Keep NimbleCal open

NimbleCal reminders use web notifications. For the best reliability, keep NimbleCal open in at least one tab/window.

3a. Snooze buttons missing?

Snooze works via notification action buttons. Some browsers or OS versions do not show action buttons on notifications.

If you do not see snooze buttons on a reminder, try a different desktop browser (or update your browser/OS).

4. Check system-level settings

Your OS can silence notifications (Focus/Do Not Disturb modes).

If you see reminders sometimes but not always, check those settings next.
