NimbleCal uses the iCalendar standard (.ics) for import and export.
ICS is the common format for moving calendars between apps and keeping a portable backup.
Privacy note
ICS files are plain text while they are stored, uploaded, emailed, or shared outside NimbleCal. After you import one, the events in NimbleCal use the app's normal end-to-end encryption. Exported `.ics` files stay plain text, so only store or share them somewhere you trust.

Importing multiple files
You can select several .ics files at once. NimbleCal then offers three destinations:
- Create a calendar for each file keeps each source separate.
- Import into existing calendar adds every event to a calendar you already have.
- Create a new calendar combines all events into one new calendar.
For Plus users importing multiple files, the default is to create a calendar for each file. Calendar names come from the file's calendar name when available, otherwise from the filename. If a name already exists, NimbleCal adds a suffix like (2) or (3).
Creating multiple calendars at once requires a Plus plan. Files that contain calendar invites are skipped during a bulk import. Import each invite on its own so you can accept, tentatively accept, or decline.
